ABIGAIL E. CANDELARI

Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology

Home: Welcome

ABOUT

I am a Ph.D candidate in clinical child and adolescent psychology at the University of Houston, where I am a graduate research assistant in Dr. Andres Viana's Child Temperament, Thoughts, and Emotions (CTTE) Lab.

My research interests lie in developmental psychopathology, and specifically focus on pediatric anxiety disorders, interventions for parents of anxious children, and the impact of temperamental, cultural, and parental risk and resilience factors on psychopathology throughout development. My dissertation pilots an intervention for parents of clinically anxious children, which aims to improve anxiety symptoms via reducing parental accommodation and overcontrolling behaviors.
